Riverhead Infants' School

Nurturing Inquiring Minds

Welcome

Welcome to Riverhead Infants' School.

Welcome to the Riverhead Infants' School Website. As you explore the site we hope you will develop an understanding of our vision and share in our achievements.

Here at Riverhead we are committed to the education of the whole child, and believe that children flourish in an environment in which they feel safe and cared for. We are proud of our inclusive practice.  In our school children achieve their full potential happy in the knowledge that they are appreciated for their individuality and their achievements.

We strive to achieve high academic standards for all children and believe that this is best accomplished through teaching that is engaging, innovative and personalised to children’s needs. We give time, so that each child can develop academic, personal and social skills in a caring and stimulating environment.  In order to develop both curiosity and a lifelong love of learning we engage children in learning experiences which motivate and deepen their understanding.

At Riverhead importance is placed on the development of personal and social skills which provide a foundation for individual responsibility and participation for all children. The emphasis upon positive relationships and good behaviour are instrumental within this, recognising that everyone has a stake in our learning community.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced and provides a secure foundation for the academic, creative and physical development of all our children. Outdoor learning is valued highly and we are lucky to have grounds that facilitate this. Through carefully planned visits, which we could not provide within the confines of the school, we enrich the children’s experience of learning and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the wider world.

We have a very close relationship with our community and always listen to the views and desires of children and parents so that we can keep improving and enhancing all that we do.  At Riverhead you will feel part of our school community as we believe strongly that parents should be a part of their child’s school life.  Working together in partnership with parents we work towards providing a high quality education for each child. We believe that your child’s time at Riverhead Infant’s School will provide a first class education and foundation on which their lives will be built.

As you explore our website join with us in celebrating our continued success and our vision for the future. If you require any further information regarding our school or would like paper copies of any DfE information, please contact us and we will be only too pleased to help.
